ExaMUC Supercomputer 

Gegenstand der Ausschreibung

The supercomputer codenamed ExaMUC, is intended for use as national Tier-1 high performance computing resource.

The innovation partnership is a multi-stage procedure. In a first step, based on concept studies for the planned system together with proposals for target prototype systems, a small number of bidders are selected (first through a competitive bidding process and then through technical negotiations). These bidders then provide one or more prototype systems (with technical innovations in both hardware and software) to be further developed in a co-design process with the client staff, from which lessons can be learned for the final ExaMUC system. At the end of the process, bidders can then submit final system bids for ExaMUC, based on the results in the prototypes, from which a partner will be selected to deliver, install, and maintain the ExaMUC supercomputer.
